Key Responsibilities
- Fit, service and look after commercial HVAC units, refrigeration systems and the equipment linked to them
- Track down and repair faults in refrigeration and air conditioning plant, whether mechanical, electrical or refrigeration-related
- Do planned maintenance and regular service visits
- Build and maintain coolrooms and freezer rooms
- Set up and maintain ventilation for commercial and industrial clients, including kitchen exhaust and specialist jobs
- Repair and service commercial catering and kitchen gear
- Take part in installing, servicing and maintaining chilled water systems
- Test and commission systems and check how they perform
- Use technical manuals, drawings and equipment specifications on each job
- Record every service and complete job documentation
- Cooperate with fellow technicians and project crews
- Act professionally on commercial and industrial sites and keep to Australian safety rules at work
- Keep growing your technical skills through on-the-job experience and training
Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualified in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC, Electrical or a related trade
- Practical experience gained in commercial or industrial workplaces
- Real employment history you can verify, plus proof of your qualifications, trade background and technical skills
- Solid grasp of HVAC, refrigeration or similar mechanical systems
- Good at practical fault-finding and diagnosis
- Comfortable working alone or in a professional technical team
- Takes safety and quality workmanship seriously, communicates well and solves problems
- Open to learning how Australian workplaces operate and to ongoing professional growth
- People from mechanical, maintenance, construction or manufacturing backgrounds with transferable skills may also be considered
- Can complete the relevant skills and employment verification process successfully
