Cooling systems only get noticed when they stop working. An established operation in Sydney is hiring an Air Conditioning Technician who can install, service and repair them properly and explain the work clearly to clients.
Your days would mix split systems, ducted units and commercial plant. You track down faults across electrical, mechanical and refrigeration parts, carry out planned servicing and breakdown repairs, and handle refrigerant recovery, charging and leak detection to the required standards. After each job you test the system, record what you did and leave the site tidy. You will work alongside other technicians, supervisors, clients and trades.

Your CV should show your trade qualification, the HVAC systems you have worked on and your refrigerant handling, with dates you can back with documents. Key Responsibilities
- Install, service and look after air conditioning and HVAC systems
- Inspect HVAC equipment closely and trace faults across electrical, mechanical and refrigeration parts
- Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance
- Fix breakdowns and bring systems back to a safe working state, choosing a sound and efficient repair method
- Work on split systems, ducted systems, commercial air conditioning and related equipment
- Recover, charge and leak-test refrigerant to the required standards
- Test how each system runs and adjust it so it operates efficiently
- Follow site safety procedures and industry rules on every job
- Keep accurate records of servicing, faults, repairs and outcomes in the required systems
- Cooperate with technicians, supervisors, clients and other trades, and represent the business professionally
- Keep tools, gear and work areas tidy and safe
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant trade qualification in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC or a related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant practical HVAC or air conditioning experience preferred
- A hands-on record of installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing HVAC systems
- Sharp fault-finding, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Genuine technical experience you can show and verify, backed by qualification and employment documents
- Good knowledge of workplace safety, electrical safety and HVAC maintenance procedures
- Works well alone and adds to a professional team
- Work on commercial, industrial or specialised air conditioning systems is advantageous
- Refrigeration systems and refrigerant handling experience is advantageous
- Background with electrical controls, wiring and HVAC control systems is advantageous
- Having done breakdown and preventative maintenance is advantageous
- Able to pass required drug and alcohol screening where applicable, and to complete identity, qualification and employment verification
- Good communication and customer service skills
