A multi-brand dealership in Tamworth, NSW needs an Automotive Technician for its modern workshop, which looks after passenger cars and used vehicles. Your days will mix diagnostics, servicing, repairs and inspections beside an experienced team, on a steady Monday-to-Friday week.

The workshop wants people who can show the hands-on work behind their certificates. Sponsorship is available for eligible candidates who meet the role requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Find mechanical and electronic faults with professional diagnostic equipment
  • Carry out routine and logbook servicing, scheduled maintenance and pre-delivery inspections with the related safety checks
  • Repair passenger vehicles of many makes, including warranty work done to manufacturer specifications
  • Work from repair manuals, technical information and wiring diagrams
  • Record finished repairs accurately in the workshop software
  • Spot extra repairs a vehicle needs and explain them clearly to the service team
  • Follow dealership procedures, safety standards and manufacturer guidelines, keeping your bay clean and organised
  • Join technical training and keep up with new vehicle systems and repair methods
  • Work with fellow technicians and help apprentices when needed

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • A valid Motor Mechanic Trade Licence
  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on automotive experience
  • Proven practical skill in servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs across different vehicle brands and models
  • Comfortable with automotive technical manuals, wiring diagrams and OEM procedures
  • Manufacturer warranty repair experience is advantageous
  • Confident with diagnostic scan tools and workshop management systems
  • Careful, accurate workmanship, and reliable, punctual and good in a team
  • Valid Australian driver's licence, preferably able to drive a manual
  • Evidence of your qualifications and employment experience when asked
