Steel, sparks and heavy plant: an established industrial business in Brisbane, QLD wants a Boilermaker who is just as steady in the workshop as on a remote site.
You will cut, bend and weld plate and sections to specification, check your work against the customer's drawings and work with the leading hand to keep jobs moving. Line boring comes up from time to time, and apprentices will learn by watching you. The week runs Monday to Saturday with occasional overtime. Sponsorship is available for suitably qualified and experienced candidates, and overseas candidates are also encouraged to apply. A pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing are part of hiring.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out steel fabrication and boilermaking with the right tools and equipment
- Cut, bend, shape and prepare steel plates and sections, then weld them to job specifications
- Work with the leading hand and fabrication crew in the workshop and on site
- Check finished work against customer specifications and keep quality assurance standards consistent
- Follow safe work practices and set procedures
- Work well alone and in a team
- Show apprentices practical trade methods
- Do line boring when needed
- Adjust to the demands of both workshop and remote-site work
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised Boilermaking trade qualification or an equivalent overseas qualification
- Proven hands-on boilermaking and steel fabrication experience, with demonstrated welding and metal fabrication skills
- A background in manufacturing, mining or heavy industry
- Previous line boring experience is highly regarded
- Able to provide evidence of trade qualifications and relevant work experience
- A strong understanding of workplace quality and safety requirements
- Able to work Monday to Saturday with occasional overtime
- Willing to take on remote-site work when required
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical
- Able to pass drug and alcohol screening
