Brick and block work on houses and commercial buildings keeps this Perth construction business busy, and it needs more qualified bricklayers for ongoing full-time work in Western Australia.
The company wants tradespeople with real hands-on time behind the trowel. You will set out walls from the plans, mix mortar to the right consistency, lay to line and level, and cut bricks on the saw where the job calls for it. Supervisors and other trades work beside you, and safe, tidy sites matter here. Sponsorship is available for suitable candidates once their qualifications and experience have been assessed, so keep your certificates and work history ready to show.

Key Responsibilities
- Read building plans, drawings and specifications for each job
- Set out brickwork accurately before construction starts
- Lay bricks and blocks to the required lines, levels and specifications, checking alignment with spirit levels and measuring gear
- Mix mortar to the correct consistency
- Use brick cutting machines and other trade equipment
- Finish work to a high quality and fix any alignment or workmanship problems you find
- Follow site procedures and safety rules while working with supervisors and other trades
- Look after tools, equipment and work areas and complete tasks on schedule
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised Bricklaying trade qualification, minimum Certificate III or equivalent
- Proven professional experience as a bricklayer, with strong practical knowledge of residential and commercial construction
- Able to read and understand construction plans
- A track record of accurate, consistent brickwork
- Confident using brick cutting equipment, levels and measuring tools
- Understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites
- Reliable, professional and committed, able to work alone or as part of a construction team
- Physically able to do bricklaying work
- Able to provide evidence of your relevant qualifications and work experience
