One week it is a kitchen install, the next a bathroom refit, a commercial fit-out or a run of new fencing. A construction and renovation business in Karratha, Western Australia, wants a Carpenter and Cabinetmaker who enjoys that variety and can prove a broad skill set.
The work spans cabinetry, general carpentry, maintenance, roofing tasks and outdoor structures on homes and commercial sites. You will read plans, pick the right materials and methods, sort out site problems and work alongside other trades, often without anyone looking over your shoulder. The business values people who are organised, dependable and keen to learn new skills. The role is full-time, and a drug and alcohol test is part of the process.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out carpentry on home and commercial renovation projects
- Install kitchens and build cabinetry, measuring, cutting, assembling and fitting timber parts
- Renovate and refurbish bathrooms
- Complete fit-outs for homes and businesses
- Handle general carpentry, building maintenance and roofing carpentry
- Build and install fences and other outdoor structures
- Read plans, drawings and measurements and choose the right materials, tools and methods
- Coordinate with other trades and the project team
- Manage your own work to meet agreed project needs
- Spot problems on site and fix them practically
- Keep accuracy, workmanship and finish to a high standard
- Keep tools, gear and work areas tidy and safe, following WHS procedures and acting professionally on client sites
- Adapt to changing projects and help deliver work efficiently
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 4 years of carpentry experience after your apprenticeship
- Practical experience across several areas of carpentry, with genuine hands-on work you can show
- Strong cabinetmaking and kitchen installation skills
- Experience with home and commercial fit-outs
- Roofing and fencing experience will be highly regarded
- Confident working on your own without constant supervision, and alongside other trades and contractors
- Good organisation and planning
- Sound problem solving and attention to detail
- A reliable, motivated, professional work ethic
- Willing to upskill and broaden your trade skills
- Full Australian driver's licence and your own carpentry tools
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Valid Australian work rights, or eligibility for a suitable sponsored visa
