A qualified chef who is ready to leave the city behind, pick up fresh experience and take a step up will find a strong team at this hotel venue in regional Victoria. You will report straight to the Venue Manager and lead each of the venue's culinary teams.
The venue wants chefs with forward-thinking ideas about food across many cuisines, and time in volume kitchens or function catering will count in your favour. Day to day you will balance menus, costings, staffing and hygiene while keeping standards where management expects them. Sponsorship is available for this position.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop menus and set food production standards
- Cost dishes and keep food quality consistent
- Manage kitchen labour levels and labour costs
- Uphold the standards set by executive management and meet agreed kitchen KPIs
- Help recruit kitchen staff, then induct and train them
- Communicate clearly with the management team and kitchen staff
- Keep the kitchen hygienic, clean and safe
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar high-volume venue
- Cert III or Cert IV in Cookery
- A high degree of professionalism and an energetic, enthusiastic approach
- Strong knowledge of how kitchens run, focused on food quality and presentation
- Sound financial capability when managing kitchen costs
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and the ability to manage a multi-faceted kitchen as a hands-on leader who coaches and motivates the team
- Proven problem-solving capability
- Ability to build and add to a team environment across the whole venue
