Pub kitchens in regional Victoria feed a lot of people, and this one near Shepparton needs a Chef who can keep a varied menu moving without letting standards slip.

You would cook to set quality and presentation standards, organise prep for each service, run daily and seasonal specials and keep portions and flavour consistent. Stock rotation, ordering and cutting waste are part of the job, as is clear communication with the front-of-house team and ideas for new dishes. Key Responsibilities

  • Cook meals to established quality and presentation standards across a varied pub-style menu
  • Organise food prep for each daily service
  • Prepare and run daily and seasonal specials
  • Keep portion sizes, flavour and presentation consistent
  • Prepare and store food in line with food safety requirements, and keep the kitchen orderly and hygienic
  • Help with stock rotation, inventory control and ordering, watching ingredient levels to limit waste
  • Work smoothly with kitchen colleagues and front-of-house staff during service
  • Help develop the menu and suggest new dishes
  • Support other kitchen staff with prep and service
  • Stay professional and productive through busy periods

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Demonstrated experience working as a Chef in a commercial hospitality kitchen
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Practical knowledge of modern food preparation and cooking techniques
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards
  • Able to handle multiple kitchen tasks while keeping quality, and to stay calm and efficient during high-volume service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently while contributing well to a team, with a positive, dependable and professional work ethic
  • Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Willing to contribute to the wider running of the kitchen
