A hospitality business in Wagga Wagga, NSW is adding a qualified Chef to a kitchen that cooks for à la carte diners, weddings, corporate functions and other events.
The right person has grown step by step, from prep and service to running a section with confidence. You will look after your own station, cook for both the dining room and big events, keep stock rotated and labelled, and cut waste through careful prep. Weekend work is expected and a driver's licence is needed. Sponsorship is available for suitable candidates. Your qualifications and work history will be checked, so have proof ready.

Key Responsibilities
- Run an allocated section from prep to the end of service, keeping the workstation clean and ready
- Cook dishes for à la carte menus, weddings, corporate and private functions
- Complete mise en place to match daily production needs
- Keep food quality, presentation and portions consistent
- Adjust to changing service volumes and kitchen demands
- Follow recipes, prep standards and kitchen procedures
- Meet food safety, hygiene and cleanliness rules
- Check stock levels, rotate stock and label and store ingredients correctly to reduce waste
- Talk clearly with chefs and kitchen staff and help keep busy services smooth
- Support junior cooks and share practical know-how
- Take on extra kitchen tasks that suit your experience
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Relevant commercial kitchen experience at Demi Chef, Chef de Partie or Sous Chef level
- Proven growth in responsibility within professional kitchens
- Able to manage a designated section on your own
- Experience with à la carte cooking and service, and with preparing food for functions and events
- Able to keep standards steady during high-pressure service
- Knowledge of commercial food safety and hygiene practices
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable attendance, professional habits and a strong work ethic
- Available to work weekends as required
- A current driver's licence
- Genuine qualifications and employment history that can be verified
- Able to provide suitable evidence of previous culinary experience
