Comfortable in the canopy and confident with ropes? A professional tree care team in Tauranga wants a Climbing Arborist for varied work on commercial, rural and home properties.
Big commercial projects sit alongside small garden jobs. You would climb safely at height, reduce trees, rig and dismantle in a controlled way and handle technical removals. You would follow the planned method and site safety rules, run and care for the specialist machines and work closely with the ground staff. Where a tree can be kept, the team prefers to keep it. Emergency jobs come up from time to time.
Employer-supported work visa sponsorship is available for suitable candidates, and international candidates with relevant qualifications and experience are welcome.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out climbing arborist work on commercial, rural and residential properties, from large commercial projects to small home jobs
- Reduce trees and complete technical removals
- Rig and dismantle trees in a controlled way
- Climb and work safely at height with professional arboricultural gear
- Run and maintain specialist machinery and equipment
- Follow planned work methods and site safety rules
- Work with ground staff to finish projects efficiently
- Look for ways to keep existing trees and vegetation
- Respond to emergency tree work when needed and keep standards high on every job
Requirements & Eligibility
- Level 3 or 4 Arboriculture qualification or equivalent experience
- Relevant professional climbing arborist experience, competent in climbing, rigging and technical removals
- Able to handle climbing operations with minimal supervision
- Class 1 driver's licence essential
- Class 2 or Heavy Transport licence advantageous
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Honest, dependable and motivated
- Good communication and teamwork
- Willing to take on more training and development
