A specialist equipment services business near Newcastle needs a Crusher Fitter who can keep crushing and processing plant running. Boilermakers with strong mechanical skills will suit the role too.
You will service and repair mobile and fixed crushers, chase hydraulic faults with schematics and pressure and flow tests, and work on 12V and 24V electrical controls. Some days are in the workshop; others are on customer sites in the city, the regions and remote areas, writing up condition reports and photos as you go. Fitters from Bangladesh who have kept plant running at Malaysian quarries will recognise the work. Sponsorship is available for suitable candidates who meet the required criteria.

Key Responsibilities
- Keep mobile and fixed crushing and processing plant serviced, with regular preventative work
- Spot faults on the equipment and decide what repairs it needs
- Do mechanical repairs and general servicing
- Trace hydraulic problems using schematics, manuals and technical data, including pressure and flow checks
- Fault-find 12V and 24V electrical controls by reading wiring diagrams and checking voltage and continuity
- Inspect machines and get them ready before delivery
- Stick to OEM specifications and approved maintenance steps
- Travel out to customer sites in the city, the regions and remote areas to service plant and give technical support
- Note each machine's condition and suggest the remedial work it needs
- Write service and condition reports and keep clear records of inspections, repairs, settings and test results
- Photograph completed work as evidence and explain problems and repairs to customers
- Work safely whether you are in the workshop or out in the field
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant trade qualification in Fitting, Boilermaking or a comparable mechanical trade
- At least 2 years in industry after finishing your training
- A proven record on quarry or mining fixed plant, with hands-on time on crushing and processing gear
- Clear mechanical maintenance and repair experience and a strong problem-solving mind
- Practical understanding of hydraulics and how to diagnose them
- Can read and make sense of both hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Can carry out basic electrical tests on 12V and 24V systems
- Can show and verify your past trade jobs and experience
- Full unrestricted C Class Driver’s Licence
- HR Licence is desirable
- Forklift Licence is desirable
- Fit for manual work and field-based tasks
- Open to working in metropolitan, regional and remote places
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screening
- A self-starter with good communication and customer service, comfortable dealing professionally with customers and site crews
