Key Responsibilities
- Take part in daily milking on a rotary dairy system
- Handle and move dairy cattle safely and efficiently
- Watch livestock health and wellbeing, spotting animals that need extra care
- Help cows during calving and look after newborn calves
- Feed and rear calves following the farm's routines
- Run feeding equipment and deliver feed to stock
- Work across the operation's several farm locations
- Clean and maintain dairy facilities and pitch in with general farm duties
- Keep work areas safe and hygienic, following animal welfare and workplace procedures
- Work alongside farm management and other staff
- Get scheduled tasks done accurately and on time
Requirements & Eligibility
- Previous work on a dairy farm or with livestock
- Practical experience handling cattle, plus knowledge of basic dairy routines and animal care
- Milking experience will be highly regarded
- Able to work safely around large animals and farm machinery
- Physically fit for standing, walking and manual work over long periods
- A strong work ethic and willingness to use your initiative
- Reliable, punctual and self-motivated
- Good communication and people skills
- Strong organisation and time management
- Able to follow instructions and set farm procedures, working independently or with a team
- Must hold a valid driver's licence, with access to your own vehicle
- Willing to live and work in Victoria
