Up on a rooftop in the Christchurch CBD, one of the city's leading bars is now in its sixth year and wants an experienced Duty Manager. Doors open Tuesday to Sunday for a varied menu built around sharing plates and fresh seasonal food, always with full table service. Mondays go to venue presentation, cocktail competitions, functions and staff training.
The aim is a small, strong team that is ready to work hard, backed by steady, detailed training and real room to grow for people who commit to hospitality. The job is permanent and full-time on a 30 hour minimum contract with rotating closing shifts, so expect evenings and weekends. Immediate starts are possible, and sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests at the door and look after reservations and enquiries
- Take orders, up-sell and process payments as part of everyday service
- Lead the team from the front and make sure guests leave happy
- Act as the contact person for functions
- Keep front of house costs, overheads and the roster in line with KPI's and targets
- Run front of house training sessions
- Build a positive workplace and staff culture
- Order stock and complete the monthly stocktake
- Follow standard opening and closing procedures and keep the venue safe, healthy and legally compliant
- Contribute to new menu development, covering drinks, recipes, costings and marketing
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum three years bar experience, including high volume cocktail work
- Valid LCQ and a current Duty Managers Certificate
- A warm, welcoming personality and a positive attitude
- Drive to succeed and ambition to grow
- Genuine passion for the industry
- Able to commit to evening and weekend work
- Friday and Saturday evenings are non negotiable
