Line work is skilled, physical and in demand. Projects in New South Wales are looking for Distribution Linesmen, Transmission Linesmen, Transmission TAs and Crane Borer Operators who can prove what they have done on the tools.
Expect overhead construction on both distribution and transmission networks: poles stood and dressed, H structures and towers erected, conductors strung, structures climbed and assets inspected, with crane and boring plant run by those authorised to operate it. Jobs move from site to site, so travel, some nights away and overtime come with the role. Sponsorship is available for suitable applicants, and experienced overseas candidates are supported.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and look after overhead electrical distribution lines
- Stand, dress and change out power poles
- Fit overhead network hardware and run out mains and conductors
- Construct transmission lines, erecting and dressing poles and H structures
- Help put up and assemble towers
- Climb transmission structures safely
- Work from network drawings and line diagrams
- Check transmission assets, spot hazards and solve problems on the job
- Handle supporting and ancillary linework
- Run crane and boring plant where authorised
- Keep to safety and quality procedures and pull your weight with crews and site teams
- Move between project locations and take the odd assignment away from home
- Work overtime when needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hands-on overhead electrical experience you can demonstrate
- Background in distribution or transmission linework, with technical skills and past work you can show
- Construction White Card
- Driver’s licence
- Good at solving problems on the job
- A dependable team player who stays safe as conditions change
- Happy to travel to projects and do short spells of away work
- Certificate III ESI in Transmission and Distribution Overhead is preferred
- Work at Heights preferred
- CPR preferred
- Dogging preferred
- Rigging preferred
- High Risk Work Licence preferred
- Overseas qualifications that are relevant will be considered
- Open to further Australian-recognised training where required
