Scissor lifts, boom lifts and cherry pickers keep work sites moving, and when one stops, someone has to get it running again safely. This permanent full-time Field Service Technician role in Wellington is for that person.

You will diagnose and repair Access/EWP equipment, splitting your time between the workshop and customer sites. Scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, accurate service records and practical advice for customers are all part of the day, and you will keep learning across the full equipment range.

Sponsorship is available for suitably qualified overseas candidates with verified experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track down faults on Access/EWP equipment and fix them
  • Look after scissor lifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers and similar machines through planned servicing and preventative care
  • Go out to customer sites for inspections and repairs, and handle jobs back in the workshop too
  • Work out what is wrong with each machine and suggest the best repair
  • Help customers and the internal team with technical questions
  • Log every service, inspection and repair carefully
  • Keep each machine safe and fit to operate
  • Switch between equipment types and job settings smoothly, staying courteous with customers and colleagues
  • Keep growing your know-how across the full equipment range

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Relevant trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Mechanical Engineering, Machinery or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining machinery
  • At least 2 years' direct experience working with Access/EWP equipment
  • Petrol and diesel machinery experience you can demonstrate, plus strong mechanical fault-finding
  • Can show evidence of your qualifications and work history
  • Full and valid driver's licence
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good customer service and communication, and confident working alone out in the field
  • Committed to safe work and professional standards
  • Eligible to work in New Zealand or qualify for an appropriate work visa
