Cranes and lifting gear are the speciality of this Christchurch business, set up in 2017 to build, refurbish and service equipment across New Zealand. It wants a dual-skilled Fitter / Turner and Welder, working as a Crane Technician, to join a close team in its workshop and help with field servicing.

Key Responsibilities
- Use lathes, mills, drills and other conventional workshop machinery
- Produce, modify and repair precision parts and components for cranes
- Weld to certified standards and fabricate structures in steel and aluminum when refurbishing cranes or building custom setups
- Diagnose faults and breakdowns, and keep mid-to-high-level lifting systems in shape with preventative maintenance
- Stick to New Zealand health and safety protocols, engineering standards and workshop rules
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade Certificate or NZQA Level 4 equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting and Turning / Fabrication)
- 5 years minimum since qualifying, working in heavy mechanical engineering, fabrication or plant maintenance; time on cranes or hydraulics is highly regarded
- Accurate reader of blueprints and technical drawings
- Sharp, analytical problem solver who takes a proactive approach
- Either the legal right to work in New Zealand or a willingness to complete the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) process
