Visa sponsorship

Construction · Perth, WA, Australia · Full-Time · Discussed at interview · Visa: Employer sponsored

Are you a probashi floor installer with commercial experience? A floor coverings business in Perth, with a long history in Australia, has a permanent full-time job for a Flooring Installer.

The projects are commercial buildings in Perth and other parts of Western Australia, built by Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders. Your manager on site is the Site Supervisor.

You will work with the floor coverings you know best. Plan each job, try to do it right the first time and leave a neat, professional finish. You will also work closely with the builder's team and other trades.

A good result means quality floors, done safely, on programme and with very few defects. Visa sponsorship is available for suitably qualified overseas installers. In simple words, the employer can support a work visa for an installer with the right skills.

Prepare a clear English CV before you apply. Show your commercial flooring work, the floor types you install and any trade qualification you have. You can create your floor installer CV with Build AI CV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install the floor coverings that are your specialty
  • Resilient floors: sheet vinyl, LVT and others, with welding and coving
  • Carpet floors: carpet and carpet tiles
  • Prepare the subfloor (grinding, patching, priming, levelling)
  • Test moisture and flatness first, and record the results
  • Read the drawings and finishes schedules
  • Set out and measure accurately
  • Work as a team with the builder's site staff and other trades, check, store and protect materials, and keep waste low, so the job stays on programme
  • Keep daily paperwork (timesheets, reports, quality checklists, photos) and follow the site's safety rules, inductions and safe work method statements

  • You need commercial flooring experience of at least 3 years. It can be from Australia or from another country
