Christchurch grounds need steady hands. This gardening role suits someone who already keeps lawns, beds and paths in top shape and handles machinery with care.
Your week will include mowing, trimming and pruning, planting and fertilising, and walking the grounds to spot what needs attention next. You will use ride-on mowers and line trimmers, keep your tools and work areas tidy and liaise with in-house teams and outside contractors when a job needs more hands. Safe work is part of every task.

Key Responsibilities
- Look after lawns, garden beds, pathways and shared outdoor spaces to the expected presentation standard
- Mow, trim and prune regularly and carry out general grounds upkeep
- Plant and fertilise when needed
- Run ride-on lawn mowers, line trimmers and other garden machinery safely
- Inspect outdoor areas and note routine maintenance needs
- Keep equipment and work areas maintained and in order
- Coordinate with internal teams and outside contractors and complete assigned tasks reliably
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven practical experience in gardening or grounds maintenance, including finishing routine tasks on your own
- Experience operating ride-on lawn mowers and line trimmers
- Sound understanding of basic garden, lawn and plant care
- Safe use of gardening tools and machinery
- Strong attention to detail and consistent quality of work
- Reliable, responsible and professional at work
- Good written and verbal communication, and able to work alone or with a team
- Availability for casual weekday shifts
- Must meet applicable New Zealand employment and sponsorship requirements
