You can spot good salon work at a glance, from a sharp fade and an even global colour to a client who rebooks before leaving. Salon teams in Auckland want to hear from hairdressers, barbers and beauty therapists who already do this kind of work every week.
You might be strongest in cutting, in colour and balayage, in smoothing treatments, or in brows, lashes and waxing. Any mix is welcome, as long as you can show your training and the salons you have worked in, so your profile can be matched to the right team. Sponsorship is available for eligible overseas professionals, and the position is full-time.

Key Responsibilities
- Offer hairdressing, barbering or beauty services in the areas you are trained in
- Talk with each client about the look they want and suggest the right service
- Cut, style and blow-dry for men and women, including hair-up work
- Handle colour from roots and global colour to foils, highlights and lowlights
- Carry out balayage, ombré, toning and colour correction
- Offer keratin, nanoplasty, Hair Botox, straightening, perming and other chemical or smoothing treatments where qualified
- Provide barbering and grooming for men where the salon needs it
- Do threading, waxing, facials, brow and lash work, including extensions and tinting where qualified
- Advise clients on professional products and how to care for their hair at home
- Keep the salon clean and hygienic and follow health and safety rules
- Give every client a warm welcome, look after your own presentation and build a loyal client list
- Work well with the rest of the salon team and keep your technical skills current
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years working professionally in the field (preferred)
- A recognised hair or beauty qualification, salon experience you can show, and/or both
- Technical skill that fits the service you are applying for, using modern hairdressing, barbering and/or beauty techniques in real salons
- Real hands-on experience you are able to show
- Clear communication and good consultation with clients
- Friendly, people-focused customer service
- Well groomed, dependable and professional
- Happy working alone or as part of a team
- High standards for quality, hygiene and professional practice, and a wish to grow a long-term career in hair and beauty
- Proof of your qualifications and work history when asked
- Current New Zealand work rights or eligibility for a suitable work visa
