A busy salon in Cairns, part of a recognised salon network, wants a Senior Hairdresser who can take a client from consultation to final style without help. Cutting, styling and modern colour work are the core of the job.
You will read each client's hair, recommend the right colour or cut, and build the kind of trust that brings people back. The salon values continued learning, so expect in-house training and time to keep up with new trends. Hours are flexible to begin with, with the potential to move to full-time later. Eligible candidates may be considered for employer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Cut, style and colour hair to a professional standard, using contemporary colour techniques with care
- Talk with clients about the look, colour and result they want
- Assess hair condition and suggest suitable styling and colour options
- Deliver consistent, high-quality results across all services
- Build strong client relationships and keep clients satisfied
- Keep your personal presentation sharp and the salon clean, organised and welcoming
- Work well with the other experienced stylists
- Take part in salon training and keep up with current trends, techniques and industry practice
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a qualified hairdresser
- Proven salon experience that appropriate employment evidence can verify, with a consistent professional work history
- Strong practical skills in cutting, styling and modern colouring
- Confident running professional client consultations
- Relevant hairdressing qualification or recognised industry training
- Strong communication and customer service
- Reliable, approachable and committed to quality work, with a willingness to keep training and developing
- Able to commit to at least 5 months or longer
- Flexible availability, with the potential to move from part-time to full-time
