If you would rather fix a machine where it stands than wait for it in a workshop, this one is for you. A field service team in Western Australia is hiring a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to support heavy equipment on client sites.
Breakdowns are a big part of the work: you get there, find the fault and get the machine running again. Between call-outs you carry out planned and preventative maintenance, help with shutdowns and moving equipment, and work on major OEM machines. You plan your own day to meet deadlines, write clear service reports and keep clients, site staff and your team informed, always within site safety rules.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment in the field
- Find and fix mechanical and equipment faults, attending breakdowns quickly
- Do planned and preventative maintenance work
- Support shutdowns and moving equipment between locations
- Work confidently on major OEM heavy machinery
- Keep workmanship high on every task you are given
- Plan and organise your day so deadlines are met, and write accurate service reports and maintenance records
- Keep clients, site staff and teammates informed
- Follow workplace and site safety procedures and help build a professional, safety-first team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Heavy Diesel trade qualification or equivalent relevant qualification
- Relevant experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic, repairing and maintaining heavy mobile equipment
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience with major OEM equipment is highly regarded
- Valid driver's licence meeting role requirements
- High Risk Work Licence for LF and/or WP is advantageous
- Works well in a field service setting and understands safe work practices
- Able to complete the required pre-employment assessments
- Good written and spoken communication
- Qualifications, work history and professional identity must be able to be verified
