Some managers run a hotel from the office. This one needs a manager who walks the floors. An established hotel in New South Wales wants a hands-on Hotel Manager for the long term.
On a normal day you might greet guests at the desk, sort out staff, meet a contractor about a leak and chase a supplier before lunch. You will fix small maintenance problems yourself where you can, arrange repairs where you cannot, and keep the property safe, tidy and welcoming. Key Responsibilities
- Run the hotel day to day and keep it performing well over time
- Help guests directly at the desk and around the property
- Coordinate staff, contractors and service providers
- Handle communication with suppliers and outside organisations
- React fast when operational problems come up and make sure tasks are done efficiently and well
- Take care of minor maintenance and property issues yourself
- Troubleshoot faults and book repairs when needed
- Keep the hotel safe, organised and welcoming
Requirements & Eligibility
- Strong English communication skills
- Previous management experience or proven management capability
- Experience in hospitality or the hotel and lodging industry is advantageous
- A practical, hands-on approach and the confidence to work independently and make decisions
- Strong leadership and coordination skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills are highly regarded
- Able to adapt as situations change
- Interest in building a long-term career
