Do you build cabinets well and enjoy keeping a small crew on track? A cabinetry and joinery business in Townsville wants trade-qualified cabinetmakers to step into a Leading Hand role.
You stay on the tools, making and assembling cabinetry and joinery from drawings, while guiding cabinetmakers and apprentices. You would plan the day's workshop flow, check measurements and finish, sort out production problems and help with installs when needed. Quality, deadlines and a safe, tidy workshop all sit with you.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support cabinetmakers and apprentices, giving technical guidance when needed
- Organise workshop production and the daily flow of work
- Make and assemble cabinetry and joinery
- Check workmanship, measurements and finished pieces, keeping an eye on quality and productivity
- Read and work from drawings, plans and specifications
- Run workshop machinery and equipment
- Help solve troubleshooting and production issues
- Assist with installation work when required
- Keep the workshop safe and organised and help meet production deadlines and quality targets
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade-qualified Cabinetmaker with Certificate III or equivalent
- Strong professional cabinetmaking and joinery experience, with demonstrated hands-on technical capability
- Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience preferred
- Able to lead and support a small team
- Strong understanding of workshop production and able to interpret plans and technical drawings
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards, with a reliable, safety-conscious approach
- Relevant experience must be supported by appropriate qualifications and employment history
