A modern manufacturing plant near Toowoomba, QLD needs a Maintenance Fitter and Electrical Fitter Mechanic to keep automated production lines up and running.
You will handle breakdowns, planned servicing and shutdowns, and help find the root cause of repeat failures so the lines stay reliable. Electrical staff will work with PLC-controlled machines and VSDs. Shifts are 12 hours on a rotating roster that covers days, nights and weekends. Sponsorship is available for suitably qualified candidates already based in Australia, so this role is open only to applicants who are in Australia now. Safety, food safety and quality rules apply on every task.

Key Responsibilities
- Find and fix mechanical faults and breakdowns on production equipment
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing
- Inspect machinery and flag maintenance issues early
- Repair, replace and look after mechanical parts
- Troubleshoot and fix electrical faults on automated equipment, including PLC-controlled systems
- Use VSDs and related electrical control gear where needed
- Look into repeat failures and help improve reliability
- Support planned shutdowns and maintenance projects
- Work closely with production teams to cut downtime and keep equipment running safely and efficiently
- Follow workplace health, electrical, food safety and quality procedures
- Help the maintenance team keep improving
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner trade qualification
- Certificate III Electrical or Electrical Fitter Mechanic qualification for electrical positions
- Proven maintenance experience in industrial or manufacturing settings, including automated production machinery
- Minimum 5 years' industrial electrical experience for electrical applicants
- Strong hands-on fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- PLC experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens preferred
- VSD experience for electrical applicants
- Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence
- High Risk Electrical Work Licence desirable
- MEX or similar maintenance management system experience desirable
- A strong commitment to safety and quality work
- Able to communicate well with production and maintenance teams and work alone or as part of a team
- Available to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including days, nights and weekends
