A well-established automotive workshop in Alice Springs, in the Northern Territory, wants a full-time Mechanic who works methodically: find the real cause, fix it properly, then test the vehicle before it goes back to the customer.
The work covers servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions and suspension. You will also guide apprentices and junior technicians, and help keep the workshop clean and safe. It is a chance to grow your career in Australia within a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical faults with systematic troubleshooting and the right diagnostic methods
- Inspect vehicles, assess their condition and recommend repairs that fix the underlying problem
- Carry out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs
- Repair or replace engines, transmissions, suspension parts and other mechanical systems
- Use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment accurately and safely
- Complete repairs to professional quality and safety standards with accurate work practices
- Test vehicles after repair to confirm they work correctly
- Give practical technical guidance to apprentices and junior technicians
- Keep the workshop clean, safe and efficient and work well with the wider automotive team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Motor Mechanic trade qualification or equivalent overseas qualification
- Minimum 2 years of relevant hands-on automotive experience preferred
- Genuine, demonstrable experience in vehicle diagnosis, servicing and repair, with strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Previous dealership or professional workshop experience is an advantage
- Able to provide evidence supporting your qualifications and previous employment
- A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Current driver's licence and the ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles
- Able to work independently and take responsibility for completed work, while communicating and working well in a team
- A professional attitude and commitment to workplace safety
