Mechanical engineers with a solid track record, take note: a well-established consultancy in Queenstown, New Zealand is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to take on varied building services and mechanical engineering projects.
The work runs from design and calculations to coordination and delivery, with plenty of direct client contact. You would work beside experienced professionals, own the quality of your outcomes and help bring in new work over time. Sponsorship is available for a suitably qualified candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to mechanical design on building and infrastructure projects
- Produce detailed designs, calculations, specifications, reports and supporting documents
- Manage assignments through design, coordination, delivery and completion, watching deliverables, deadlines and quality
- Work across commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial and other developments
- Assess engineering needs and develop effective technical solutions
- Coordinate mechanical services with architectural, structural, electrical and other disciplines
- Work directly with clients and stakeholders to understand what they need and build long-term relationships
- Review technical work for accuracy, quality, safety and compliance
- Attend project meetings, design reviews, site inspections and coordination sessions as needed
- Give technical advice and practical engineering support to project teams
- Help identify new project opportunities and support business development
- Share technical knowledge to develop others, keep professional standards high and stay current with engineering practice
Requirements & Eligibility
- A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Substantial professional experience in mechanical building services, industrial engineering, or engineering consultancy
- Proven delivery of projects from design through to completion, across varying scope, complexity and delivery needs
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and design practice
- Proven technical, analytical and problem-solving ability
- Strong communication skills for working with clients and stakeholders, and the ability to build and keep professional relationships
- Able to manage competing priorities and meet agreed deadlines
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, compliance and practical outcomes
- Works well in a collaborative professional team
- Commercial awareness and interest in growing client and business opportunities
- Chartered Professional Engineer status or active progress towards chartership is advantageous
- Willing to have qualifications, employment history, professional experience and relevant credentials verified
- A professional attitude, commitment to continuous learning and career growth, and values centred on quality, support, flexibility, teamwork and a positive workplace
- Able to meet the requirements for a suitable New Zealand work visa
