Workshop days and field days are both part of this full-time trade job. An industrial engineering and maintenance business in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia needs an experienced Metal Fabricator who is also a capable boilermaker and welder.
In the shop you will read drawings, mark out, cut, bend, shape, weld and assemble parts and structures. Out on site you will help maintain fixed and mobile plant, attend breakdowns and carry out repairs and modifications. Every job is checked for accuracy before it leaves your hands, and safety comes first. Sponsorship is available for suitable overseas applicants.

Key Responsibilities
- Read engineering drawings, plans and specifications
- Mark out and measure fabrication work
- Cut, bend and shape structural and mechanical materials and components
- Fabricate, weld and assemble parts and structures
- Repair and modify plant and equipment
- Support maintenance on fixed and mobile plant
- Attend breakdowns and carry out corrective repairs
- Do fabrication work both in the workshop and on site
- Inspect fabricated items for quality and accuracy against required specifications and standards
- Operate workshop machinery and fabrication equipment and do routine machinery maintenance
- Follow safe work procedures and site rules
- Keep the work area professional and organised
Requirements & Eligibility
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate III or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years full-time experience in Metal Fabrication
- Proven Boilermaker/Welder experience with strong fabrication and welding capabilities
- Competent at reading engineering drawings
- Successful completion of a pre-employment medical assessment
- Successful completion of drug and alcohol screening
- Construction White Card
- Working at Heights certification obtained within the past 2 years
- Confined Space certification obtained within the past 2 years
- Valid Australian Driver Licence
- A strong commitment to safety and quality, plus good communication and teamwork skills
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or relevant work rights
