Testing and inspecting vehicles is where most jobs begin. From there you would repair engines, transmissions, steering and brakes, look after wheel alignment and air-conditioning, check roadworthiness and handle accident repairs. Keeping clear service records and explaining findings and likely repair costs to management are part of the work, as is making sure vehicles are ready for customer bookings.
Work begins on a 6-month contract, full-time or part-time, with the chance of a permanent position depending on performance and business needs. Sponsorship or immigration support is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Find vehicle faults and confirm them by testing and inspecting
- Fix engines, transmissions, steering and brakes, and handle wheel alignment and air-conditioning repairs and servicing
- Do routine services and preventative maintenance to the set service specifications
- Assess and repair vehicles that have been in accidents or need restoration
- Check that vehicles are roadworthy, safe and compliant with state rules, picking out worn or faulty mechanical and electronic parts
- Record every inspection, service, repair and maintenance job in detail
- Coordinate with the vehicle operations team so cars are ready for customer bookings, and help keep spare parts in stock
- Explain technical findings, repair needs and estimated costs to management
- Keep a clean, organised, safe workshop that meets WorkSafe requirements
- Bring quality, reliability and care to every job, whether working solo or with the team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised trade qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years working professionally as a Motor Mechanic in relevant roles
- Proven hands-on skill in diagnosing, servicing and repairing vehicles, including their mechanical and electronic systems
- Holds a current driver's licence
- Strong English, both spoken and written
- IELTS Band 6 or above preferred
- Can explain technical problems, repair choices and estimated costs in plain terms
- Strong analytical and diagnostic ability, plus excellent problem-solving and decision-making
- Well organised with good time management, close attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Works well alone or as part of a team
- Puts workplace safety and vehicle roadworthiness first
