A vehicle repair workshop in Dunedin is looking for a Panel Beater who takes pride in getting every repair right before it moves on to the paint shop.
The work covers a wide mix of collision jobs, from structural repairs to prestige cars. You will read the job sheet, check parts, trial-fit panels, label everything by job number and finish with reassembly and headlight checks before signing off. This role is open to applicants already in New Zealand with residency or a valid work visa, and sponsorship is available for the right candidate. You will be trusted to work without someone watching over you, and further training is part of the job.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out collision and panel repairs accurately, after checking what each repair needs
- Read the job sheet and follow the approved repair method and workplace instructions
- Trial-fit new parts, confirm the fit and report any missing, wrong or extra parts
- Ask management for guidance whenever a repair needs it
- Finish every assigned repair before the vehicle goes to paint
- Label removed parts with the job number and store them in order
- Get repaired parts and components ready for the Paint Department
- Do final reassembly checks, including headlight position and other adjustments
- Inspect finished work for quality and safety, then sign it off
- Keep the work flowing while meeting the expected repair standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade Certificate at an equivalent Level 3 or Level 4 standard, or at least 3 years of relevant technician experience
- Proven hands-on experience in panel beating or vehicle repair, with the ability to read job sheets and follow repair procedures
- Able to do technical work without constant supervision
- A strong focus on safe, accurate, quality repairs
- Able to work well within a workshop team
- A full clean driving licence
- Good organisation and communication skills
- Sharp attention to detail
- Current New Zealand residency or a valid applicable work visa
