Big civil jobs need an engineer who keeps the technical side under control while the programme moves. A growing construction team in Brisbane wants a Senior Project Engineer to coordinate engineering work on major civil projects.
Working with the Project Manager, you would keep works in line with drawings, specifications, budgets and the programme, update schedules, and answer technical queries from site. Subcontractor and supplier engagement, quality control, cost tracking and monthly cost-to-complete reports are part of the role. This is a permanent position on a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster.

Key Responsibilities
- Run engineering coordination on large civil construction projects
- Work beside the Project Manager to deliver jobs safely, efficiently and on time
- Check construction stays true to approved drawings, specifications, budgets and project requirements
- Prepare and update project plans, programs and schedules, and sequence the works to match
- Advise project teams and site staff on technical and engineering matters, and review civil, structural and services drawings
- Pick up technical issues early and close out technical queries
- Help bring subcontractors and suppliers on board, then watch their performance, costs and deliverables
- Make sure quality requirements and quality control procedures are met
- Help manage costs and budgets, preparing monthly financial reports and cost-to-complete forecasts
- Flag project risks, construction problems and likely delays, working closely with managers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders
- Keep safety standards high across every activity on the project
Requirements & Eligibility
- Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 7 years' engineering experience in civil infrastructure or construction, including a proven part in delivering major civil projects
- Knows civil construction methodologies well, along with construction planning, scheduling and sequencing
- Reads civil, structural and services drawings confidently
- Has handled technical queries and solved engineering issues
- Has managed budgets for subcontractors and suppliers
- Understands quality assurance and quality control systems
- Commercially aware with strong project management sense, and excellent at communication and stakeholder management
- A demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety
- Able to work a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster
- Relevant Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship
