High-rise work in Sydney needs engineers who know formwork and concrete well. This Project Engineer post is for someone with that structural background who can also keep a busy site on schedule.
You would join a construction subcontractor on major building projects. The job covers planning formwork and concrete works, checking drawings, keeping trades and suppliers in step and tracking progress against the programme. You would also handle contract administration and keep the project records in order. Overseas construction experience is welcomed, as long as it can be verified.

Key Responsibilities
- Run daily engineering and construction coordination on major building projects
- Plan and track formwork and concrete structural works
- Organise subcontractors, suppliers and site crews
- Check drawings, specifications and engineering documents
- Help with programming, sequencing and construction planning, and watch progress against schedules and milestones
- Assist with contract administration and project reporting
- Handle technical questions between consultants, engineers and subcontractors
- Find construction problems early and help with practical fixes
- Check quality so the works meet project requirements
- Keep project records, documents and progress reports up to date
- Support senior project staff and keep site and project stakeholders talking
- Help finish works safely, efficiently and on time
Requirements & Eligibility
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Construction Management
- 2–5+ years of relevant post-graduate construction experience
- Proven formwork and concrete structures experience on high-rise, commercial or large-scale building projects
- A background with a construction subcontractor
- Understanding of construction programming and sequencing of work
- Contract administration experience
- Strong skills in coordinating and managing subcontractors
- Good technical, communication and organisation skills
- Able to show and verify your qualifications and professional experience
- Relevant overseas construction experience is welcomed
- Able to meet Australian employment and sponsorship requirements
