Caring for older people takes patience and sound clinical judgement. A residential aged care provider in regional Western Australia needs Registered Nurses for its care team. On each shift you look at what a resident needs, bring in doctors and therapists where required, and keep every care plan up to date. Care staff will turn to you for direction.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out clinical assessments of residents and act when someone's health or wellbeing changes.
- Work in partnership with residents and their families to write person-centred care plans, put them into practice and review them.
- Administer medications and clinical treatments according to professional standards.
- Lead care staff, offering mentoring and guidance.
- Arrange resident care together with GPs, allied health professionals and external providers.
- Complete clinical documentation and reporting accurately and on time, including support for AN-ACC assessments.
- Follow the Aged Care Quality Standards, policies and best practice, and take part in infection prevention, risk management and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements & Eligibility
- A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- 2+ years' work as an RN in an aged care setting (or equivalent).
- Strong skills in clinical assessment and in coordinating care.
- Able to guide staff in wound and diabetes management, with a sound understanding of medication systems.
- Excellent skills in communication, teamwork and problem-solving.
