Commercial roofs and cladding on big projects around Hamilton are the daily work for this New Zealand roofing team, and it is adding full-time roofers to the crew.
Roofing experience is preferred, but construction workers whose skills carry over can also apply. You will measure and cut sheets around vents, corners and ridges, lay underlay, line up starter sheets, fix flashings and fasten sheets with the right overlaps, all from drawings and site specs. The work moves between sites, and safety comes first on every roof. Experienced overseas Roofers may be considered for sponsorship. Bangladeshi construction workers who have fixed roof sheeting on Gulf projects may find the work familiar.

Key Responsibilities
- Install commercial roofing and do related construction work
- Fit roofing materials accurately to each project's requirements
- Measure and cut materials around roof penetrations, vents, corners and ridges
- Fix edge and ridge flashings securely
- Lay waterproof sheets and roofing underlay in the right position and secure the underlay correctly
- Line up starter sheets and fasten roofing sheets with the correct overlaps
- Read drawings, specifications and site needs to work out the materials required
- Work with modern roofing, cladding and architectural systems to a steady standard of finish
- Check finished work and fix any installation issues
- Spot hazards, follow site safety procedures and use tools and materials safely
- Travel between project sites and work well with supervisors and other trades in a tidy, safety-minded way
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven roofing experience is preferred
- Relevant commercial roofing or cladding experience is highly regarded
- Construction experience with transferable trade skills may be considered
- Able to measure, cut and install roofing materials accurately and read construction drawings and specifications
- A practical understanding of construction site safety
- Strong attention to detail, a focus on quality and good practical problem-solving skills
- Able to work well in a team, with a reliable and committed attitude to work
- Physically able to carry out roofing and construction work
- Willing to learn new roofing and cladding techniques and to travel between project sites when required
- Overseas applicants must satisfy applicable New Zealand employment and immigration requirements
