Keeping trains safe while their electrical systems are upgraded takes a senior engineer with rail know-how. In Brisbane, a Senior Electrical Engineer is needed to help deliver rolling stock projects across Queensland.
You should bring a solid background in the electrical side of rail vehicles, in fleet upgrade work and in engineering assurance. Working with specialists and project teams, you will check technical solutions, steer large modification programmes and confirm that every delivery stage meets tough safety, quality and operating standards. Key Responsibilities
- Act as technical lead on electrical projects for rolling stock
- Review designs, overhaul paperwork and technical submissions from others
- Coordinate with contractors, specialists and project managers so electrical requirements are delivered in full
- Support refurbishment, reliability and fleet modification programmes
- Inspect, test, commission and accept work on behalf of engineering
- Draft specifications, work scopes, procedures and technical reports
- Look into equipment failures, solve them practically and keep an eye on compliance, quality and project results
- Partner with suppliers, maintenance crews and operations to make assets safer and more reliable
- Put complex technical ideas in plain terms for a wide range of stakeholders
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Extensive electrical engineering experience on rolling stock or other rail vehicles
- In-depth knowledge of overhaul programmes, upgrades and modifications to electrical systems
- Has led testing, commissioning and engineering investigations
- Can prepare scopes of work, specifications and other technical documents
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, plus strong stakeholder management and communication
- Current unrestricted driver's licence
