Cutting and finishing stone is careful, skilled work, and an established Sydney fabrication shop wants a Stonemason who treats every benchtop as a showpiece. The team shapes natural and engineered stone for kitchens and other projects, and the shop is 100% wet-processing, so every cut is water-fed.
The job is full-time and permanent, with a start straight away. Your week runs Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 5:00pm and Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm, and overtime and Saturday shifts are on offer. Employer-sponsored visa options may be available for suitably qualified and experienced international candidates who meet Australian immigration requirements, and people applying from overseas or already in Australia on a temporary visa are welcome. Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate natural and engineered stone for kitchen benchtops and other stone projects
- Cut, shape, polish and finish each piece, including laminated and mitred edges
- Produce clean, high-quality mitred joins and finished edges
- Read plans, drawings and measurements and work to them accurately
- Keep workmanship to a high standard at a steady pace in a busy production shop
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and the company's systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven background in stonemasonry and stone fabrication
- Hands-on work with both natural and manufactured stone
- Confidence in laminating, mitring, polishing and finishing
- Able to read and interpret plans and drawings
- Delivers high-quality finishes every time, with strong attention to detail and pride in the work
- Comfortable working alone or as part of a team
- Reliable and hardworking, able to stay efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Physically able to meet the demands of the role
- Current driver's licence
- Holds a White Card or is willing to obtain one
- Desirable: forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
- 3+ years' relevant industry experience is preferred, though suitably skilled candidates with less experience will also be considered
