For probashi mechanics with heavy vehicle skills, here is a permanent, full-time opening in Australia. A well-established trucking business in country New South Wales needs a Diesel Motor Mechanic for heavy commercial vehicles. The workplace is Dubbo, or a second workshop in the Riverina with a roster that rotates to Dubbo.
You would look after prime movers, trailers and bulk freight equipment. The work means finding complex faults, doing repairs and preventive maintenance, and keeping downtime low while following NHVR, chain of responsibility and WHS rules.
The employer offers visa sponsorship under subclass 482 for suitably qualified candidates. People who currently hold a valid visa in Australia are given preference, but this is not a requirement. A licence, a medical and a drug and alcohol test are part of the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities
- Look after planned preventive maintenance and logbook services for engines, transmissions and brakes, as the OEM guidelines require
- Work out the cause of electrical, mechanical and emission control faults with modern diagnostic tools and repair them
- Rebuild large components and do fabrication jobs when the workshop needs them
- Keep every vehicle within NHVR compliance and keep careful records for audits
- Work safely in the workshop and update work orders in the fleet software
- Go out to roadside breakdowns
- Teach drivers how to check their vehicles and report defects
Requirements & Eligibility
- Heavy diesel mechanic work for at least 2 years, preferably with a road transport business
- Holds a qualification in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Desirable: experience with NHVR standards and bulk freight equipment
- Able to use diagnostic software
- Understands petrol and diesel engines well
- A current licence, and you must pass a medical and a drug and alcohol test
