Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sweet and savoury pies by hand from start to finish, including pastry and fillings
- Produce ice cream, custards and other creamery items made with dairy
- Make sure everything leaving the kitchen is high quality, consistent and well presented
- Take charge of stock rotation and ingredient orders and keep work areas clean
- Respect food safety and hygiene standards on every shift
- Suggest new or improved recipes and seasonal specials, and join the kitchen and front-of-house team in reaching each day's production targets
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven work history as a baker, pastry chef or similar
- Particular strength in pies, as well as creamery or dairy products
- Strong pastry fundamentals, for instance dough, lamination and blind baking
- Skill in preparing dairy-based desserts, with an understanding of food safety requirements
- Reliable and organised
- Comfortable working early morning shifts
- Genuine passion for baking and close attention to detail
- Relevant certifications such as food safety handling count as a plus
