Commis Chef
Visa sponsorship
Hospitality · Queenstown, New Zealand · Full-Time · $28 - $29/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored
Many Bangladeshi cooks have worked in hotel kitchens in the Gulf or Malaysia. If that is you, here is a bidesh opening to look at: a hotel bar and restaurant in Queenstown, New Zealand, needs two Commis Chefs. A commis chef is a junior cook in the team.
These two jobs are permanent, and you work 30 hours in a normal week. Rosters will include late nights, weekends and public holidays. The tasks are breakfast cooking, meals for conferences, careful plating and special dishes for guests who cannot eat dairy or gluten.
You need experience in a similar position and with an à la carte menu (each dish ordered on its own). You also need an NZQCF Diploma, or at least three years of relevant experience instead. The employer can potentially offer visa sponsorship for the right candidate.
