For probashi workers with restaurant experience, a permanent Waiter job is open in central Christchurch, New Zealand. A busy modern Asian restaurant, known for the aquarium in its dining room, wants four new team members.
The employer looks for staff who give excellent service, follow its way of selling food and drinks, and stay friendly and relaxed with guests.
Working hours are full-time, at least 30 hours a week. You will need to be free in the evenings, at weekends and through summer, which is the busiest time.
The restaurant is approved as an accredited employer. This means it is allowed to sponsor workers, and it can assist through the immigration process if required.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests kindly and explain the dishes on offer
- Take orders, bring them to tables and enter them on the POS
- Collect electronic and cash payments
- Clean, clear and reset tables and keep the restaurant tidy
- Apply NZ liquor laws and work with management and guests on licensing rules
- Attend in-house training on food, beverages and service, complete each module and promote products and services as restaurant policy sets out
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least six months of experience in a similar role, or a Level 2 or 3 Diploma qualification
- Good knowledge of NZ liquor laws
- Availability for nights, weekends and the busy summer months, and motivation to work hard and learn the restaurant's offerings and service standards
