For probashi chefs who have already run busy kitchens at home or abroad, here is a Sous Chef opening on the Gold Coast, Queensland. The café has a high-volume kitchen, and you would share leadership with the Head Chef and another Sous Chef.
In this role you guide the team through busy services, arrange prep and sections, and keep each plate consistent in quality and presentation. You also look after hygiene and food safety, help train staff and take charge of the kitchen when needed.
The employer is willing to consider sponsorship for the right candidate. This means the employer may support a work visa, but only for someone with experience in a similar role who passes a 6-month probation period, which is a trial period at the start of the job.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Eligibility
- Strong experience in a busy, high-volume café or similar kitchen
- Earlier experience as Sous Chef, senior chef or supervisor
- Confident to lead a team and run a busy service, with strong organisation and communication skills
- Reliable and calm under pressure, willing to take ownership
- Hands-on and happy to work beside the team, with a strong understanding of food quality and consistency
- Available 5 days per week, including Saturday and Sunday
