This Hamilton food manufacturer works in the primary sector, is growing, and sells mostly to China and Southeast Asia. It needs a Production Planner & Supply Chain Officer to own the production plan and link the factory floor with the sales team. Peak season for deer velvet runs until February/March, so you will need to get up to speed quickly.
The job is a first step into leadership, with one direct report and room to grow. It is full-time at 40 hours per week, with extra hours in peak season, starting as soon as possible. The employer holds Immigration NZ accreditation, and sponsorship on an Accredited Employer Work Visa is open to applicants already in New Zealand with New Zealand work experience; offshore applications will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage production schedules that meet capacity, cost and quality targets
- Forecast demand and give a longer-term view of operations
- Help get more value out of SAP by looking after master data, inventory and bills of materials
- Coordinate supply chain work with packaging suppliers
- Organise dispatch
- Work alongside QA to meet traceability, MPI and export market requirements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience in manufacturing production planning, backed by strong forecasting skills
- Hands-on ERP experience; SAP is strongly preferred and training is available
- Experience in food or primary industry manufacturing, plus QA knowledge
- Communicates clearly and manages customer expectations confidently, while staying practical, resilient and flexible when deadlines shift
- Desirable: team leadership, health and safety experience, or knowledge of exporting to Asia
